What is OSB?
- OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is an engineered wood panel made from long, thin wood strands that are arranged in cross-oriented layers and bonded together with synthetic resins under high heat and pressure.
Advantages:
- High strength and durability due to the cross-oriented fiber structure.
- Excellent dimensional stability – it doesn’t easily expand or shrink.
- Moisture resistance.
- Easy to cut and shape.
Applications:
- Wall, roof, and floor sheathing in wooden constructions.
- Interior wall cladding and decorative surfaces with an industrial or rustic look.
- Modern furniture, especially in industrial-style designs.
Types:
- OSB2 : For interior furniture or general use with load-bearing capacity.
- OSB3 : Moisture-resistant; suitable for humid or semi-damp environments .
